| Structured Education Specialist Youth Education and Prevention Services (YEPS)
Position Status: Full-Time/Exempt Reports To: Program Director, Youth Education and Prevention Services
Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing structured education regarding the primary prevention of bullying, sexual violence and/or sexual assault as well as teen dating violence to grades 3 - 12 in the Dallas and Collin county school districts.
Other duties include but not limited to:
- Provide structured primary education in accordance with a developed curriculum for grades 3 - 12 in the Dallas and Collin county school districts.
- Seek the approval of and schedule primary prevention presentations with school districts in Dallas and Collin County for school grades 3 - 12. Schedule presentations and groups in schools, recreational centers, churches and organizations in Dallas and Collin County.
- Assess individual situations and provide resources to youth impacted by primary prevention presentations.
- Attend required case conference, staff meetings, primary prevention trainings and supervisory sessions as arranged.
- Represent The Family Place at area community functions on sexual violence and primary prevention issues.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of program volunteers.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of database of community statistics on bullying, sexual violence, teen dating violence and violence prevention related issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Human Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Education or related field required. Masters Degree preferred. Two years of experience required with facilitating educational presentations or public speaking and programming for school age children required. Schedule requires occasional weekend and evening hours. Must have a valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation. Excellent computer skills required. Strong organizational and communication skills essential. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) skills preferred.
