Ways to Give

Gifts to support The Family Place enable us to provide emergency shelter for families in need and lifesaving services for survivors of domestic violence.

Below are a few ways you can contribute.

Monthly Giving:

Make a monthly recurring gift online that will make a lasting impact on survivors. By committing to a monthly gift, you provide support that enables us to plan and provide consistent stability for survivors and ensure your impact continues month after month, which makes a meaningful difference in the families affected by domestic violence. Become a MONTHLY GIVER today!

Become a Safekeeper:

Another way is to become part of our SafeKeepers Giving Society by pledging to give a minimum of $500 a year for at least three years to help ensure programs are sustainable for survivors of domestic violence for years to come. Join SAFEKEEPERS today or call 214-443-7770.

By Mail:

Please make all checks payable to The Family Place and send to:

The Family Place
Attn: Development Department
PO Box 7999
Dallas, TX 75209

If you would like to make a gift in honor or memory of a loved one, please include their name and the contact information of whom we should notify.  We will send a Tribute Card to the designated recipient.

Donate Items to The Family Place Resale Shop:

Our Resale Shop accepts donations and provide free clothing, household items and furniture to clients as necessary. We have a great team and volunteers that support the resale shop; the stores’ excess donated inventory is sold to the general public to raise funds for programs for survivors of domestic violence. CLICK HERE to learn more about donation guidelines and information about The Family Place Resale Shop!

Stocks, Bonds and Mutual Funds:

We welcome gifts of stocks, bonds or mutual funds.  To initiate the transaction, please contact your broker and then reach out to mcbenavides@familyplace.org to receive transfer instructions and applicable forms to assist you in completing your gift to The Family Place.

Planned Giving:

Planned gifts provide stability and help ensure The Family Place will be able to meet the future needs of domestic violence survivors. Please consult with your estate planning attorney to determine the right plan to achieve your goals.

Examples of Planned Gifts Include:

  • Gifts by will or living trust — Give to The Family Place without affecting your cash flow during your lifetime.

  • Gifts of retirement plans — Your retirement plan may be worth more when donated to The Family Place than to your heirs.

  • Gifts of life insurance — Create a significant endowment for The Family Place without dipping into your capital assets.

To initiate a planned gift, contact mcbenavides@familyplace.org or call Mary Catherine Benavides at 214-443-7770 for more information.
